Jane Chaney

I was born and raised in Ashtabula, Ohio on the southern shores of Lake Erie. Never liking winters, I roamed the United States and Europe during my early 20s, eventually falling in love with Carmel Valley. I moved here in 1975, raised my family, working at Pebble Beach Company and Robert Talbot. As a parent, I was involved with Tiger Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Little League. After retirement, I was looking for a way to give back to the community that I’ve enjoyed for so many years. When I first walked into the History Museum in 2020, I immediately knew that it was the right place for me to volunteer. Since then, I’ve worked as a docent, a member of the Exhibit Committee, and as Collections Chair. I’ve served on the Board of Directors since 2023, appointed Vice President in 2024 before being elected as Co-President in May of 2025.
