Thursday, October 26, 7:00 pm.
October is Archeology Month and, for the fourth year, the Carmel Valley Historical Society will host noted archeologist Gary S. Breschini and researcher Trudy Haversat. For over 40 years this couple has explored and studied Esselen Indian territory, researching and photographing the Central California coast and Big Sur country.
The talk will include some of the items found over the years and brief summaries of the results. They will also present the first public presentation of exciting new results. In addition, the talk will include a look at the Esselen rock paintings that they have studied for over 4 decades. Please join us for another intriguing talk, slide presentation and question & answer session.
Please join us on Saturday, April 21st, for the Historical Society’s Annual Meeting & New Exhibit, “Rusticating in Carmel Valley: 1870s–1940s,” a story of the resorts, ranches and camps of the time period and the activities (wild & otherwise) that enticed people “to take in the rural environment.”
